Hot BMW X3 2010 first overview

BMWX3_2010_carzpageThese are the first official pictures of the new 2010 BMW X3. At first glance it is a shrunken X5 and looks smarter and bigger than the outgoing, the first generation X3, which never quite lived up to its promise.

It is to change everything with the new X3 in more ways than one. The new 2010 SUVs from BMW in Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA, and not by Magna in Graz, Austria built. This should help to resolve problems, the quality that the original X3 branded.

BMW X3 (2010): an overview

It is a square aesthetic at play. Just check the horizontal lines marking the front headlights – a long and character along the flanks further differs from X3 X5. The new X3 is larger than before, but now the latest X5 has swollen to three rows of seating space, it remains clear water between BM’s two big SUVs.

Munich, says the new X3 and the lowest emissions of all 4WD model in this segment. Very zeitgeist. How have they reached a low CO2? By fitting to reduce stop-start and an eight-speed transmission speed.

BMWX3_2010_carzpage_2But this is a BMW, so there is a lot to offer for ambitious riders. X3s are all-wheel drive and multi-link rear suspension tuned for fun and pampering, according to its creator. They should make the full electric power steering perform although feel, can often missing in such systems. Variable damping control based on the new X3 for the first time available to hire drivers to pick between Normal, Sport and Sport + tweak settings damping, steering, throttle response, Stability Control thresholds and the rate of change of gear.

X3 is the new player in it?

SuperCar Today: Porsche 911 Turbo S 2010 Ultimate Review

Porsche911TurboSreview_carzpage1It’s a numbers game with the new Porsche 911 Turbo S. For an additional £ 17,309 (or £ 17,324 in choosing for the convertible) you get an extra 30bhp, £ 37 m and many standard products that are otherwise on the “extra regular” 493bhp Turbo.

S is for sports and marketing team of Porsche would have you believe that this new S model is the sporty variant, 911 Turbo, with everything from ceramic brakes, a torque vectoring system and active engine mounts as a default, if you not have a manual transmission. All in – and until the new GT2 comes later this year – it is the most expensive 911 you can buy: £ 123,263 for the coupe (tested here) and £ 130 791 for the convertible.

And despite the high price, since 90% of the turbos with the PDK ‘box sold, Porsche expects to cough 70-80% of the customers extra for P. Read on for CAR review of the new Porsche 911 Turbo S.
What does the S in the Porsche 911 Turbo S?

The direct injection, twin-turbo 3.8-liter Flat Six is essentially unchanged, but the gains come courtesy of the revised intake valve timing, a new carbon fiber airbox and an increase in turbo pressure to 1.2bar. Power rises from 493bhp at 6000rpm to 523bhp at 6750rpm 6250, the same headline figure as a Mk1 997 GT2. The torque peak is the same as a regular Turbo with the optional Sport Chrono equipped overboost function, but has the full ft S £ 516, if you like it, rather than need a sports button to access the extra oomph to can. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions remain unchanged

Porsche PDK transmission is standard, as well as the Sport Chrono package, which includes a Launch Control function. And together with the extra grunt from the engine, all three elements of the Turbo S at 62 miles an hour sent in 3.3 seconds (3.6 for a regular turbo, 3.4 for one with the Sport Chrono package). Even more impressive is the 0-124 miles an hour time, which drops from 11.6 to 10.8 seconds.
Porsche911TurboSreview_carzpage2And how does it feel when you start a Porsche 911 Turbo S by 124 miles an hour in 10.8 seconds?

It’s addictive, but oh so easy. Come to stop, press the Sport Plus button, set your left foot on the brake, then the other stamps on the accelerator. The electronics, the speed to build up, at which point you side step the brake and hold on you. It is a short pause, while the spinning wheels will be treated (we drove the Turbo S on a very humid day in Stuttgart) and then you notice cracks in the seat as the PDK ‘box through its corridors and hurls it down the road.

Unfortunately there is no GT3-style six-song to accompany your adventures, but you get an angry gurgling noise and noise over the shoulder, with a muted pschttt mixed when you lift.

But even though the Turbo S intimidating on paper, they drive in the city or on the freeway is easy. In the city it is means a little more nimble 911, which is easily in the transport site, and the PDK ‘box that you do not have to use the manual clutch heavy turbo’s and look stiff shift. Leave the urban areas back to find a decent piece derestricted highway and suddenly you’re stupid speeds. Just 15 minutes after climbing into the turbo SI’d set my own public road from 170 hours PB miles, and with absolute ease. It’s probably best you do not have Turbo S United Kingdom – you will lose your license in the first week of ownership.

So it’s a little faster, but really worth an extra 30bhp £ 20k?

Extra power is not everything, what you get. Most of the 911 Turbo buyers end up with a whole lot of issues on the list of options, so for them the extra on the S-Kit (plus the supposed exclusivity), it might seem like a good price – spec a turbo with the same gear and it costs pretty much the same.

VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2010 Ultimate Review

VWScirocco90_2010_carzpageWould the editors of the Volkswagen Scirocco at the weekend and came away impressed mightily. It is not a car, I would buy – space at a premium and that kiwi green paint and black wheels are also look-at-me – but if I were in the market for a two-door coupe, the Scirocco would certainly it .VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2010 Ultimate Review.

It’s just an all-rounder. It states that Golf GTI in drag, which seamlessly. The 2.0-liter gasoline four is cultivated, if you have served pootling strong acceleration when you are in the process almost to the point where you wonder who really need the top model in R version. And although his critics, the DSG gearbox is brilliant, most of the time, the whipcrack gear change, serve as automatic mode and finger-pressure good guide all to remind us that the Volkswagen Group is the road-car use override the pioneer twin clutch “boxes. There is very little shunt at low speeds, the usual bugbear as Transexual. The brakes are over-but servoed and very greedy until you adjust your right foot. VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2010 Ultimate Review.

VWScirocco91_carzpageThe richly talented powertrain can dominate the driving experience, but the Scirocco is a fun device with your favorite series of corners too. The steering is precise and weighty, but like most coupes derived Luke hardly brimming with genuine emotion, and the car corner flat and neutral. Keep the suspension appears in Comfort mode, though, will sport a ride shocks that not worth the trouble, with little tangible benefit to the handling of the roll remains free even at high speeds. The Scirocco is a car that can even be driven by absurdly fast average drivers and is great fun. About the only real gripe is poor traction in wet conditions, the £ 206 ft from 1700-5200rpm disturbing the front axle in the two lower gears on wet roads. VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2010 Ultimate Review.

What the Scirocco character? I know many Onliner CAR expect it is just a squashed golf, and at the end of the day they are right. But we worry? Not one iota. The Golf GTI is in Mk5 and Mk6 consistently cover one of our favorite hot hatch on sale and the lower slung two-door ‘Roc has a brilliant head start in life underskin with this hardware. It’s all a bit corporate VWspeak – the cabin of the dark and packed with golf spec – and I suspect that some buyers are put off.

Those real character (whatever that is), the type of people who can not to the amount set Alfa Romeo on their shopping list and regret the Identikit sharing platform, the homogeneity irons out differences enough in modern cars – the Scirocco find a boring choice. But the fact is that for 95% of the buyers, it is the best mainstream coupe on sale for £ 23k from a country mile. It is borderline brilliant. VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI 2010 Ultimate Review.

Brand New VW Golf SE 1.4 TSI Estate 2010 review

VWGolfEstate_1Volkswagen has not molested the same transformation with the new Golf Variant, as it was with the Golf hatchback, in the progression of Mk5 Mk6. There are new engines, a new dashboard and a new nose, but the chassis and body are pretty much left alone. So we should feel cheated us, or is a revamped old Golf Variant-shaped satisfactory enough?

Sounds like VW, AOS has been a little lazy with the new Golf Variant.

Well, you could say, but then the property almost a volume seller. In fact, the property was never really a Golf at all: Check out the old, AOS grille, and the doors (which continued unchanged). You Aore from the Jetta. So this is a wagon version of the golf boot, really. VW Golf.

Confused? You should be. Especially when you consider that is the company that once brought us the Bora Estate …

Could they afford to let the Golf Variant in peace?

The Golf Mk5 was not just a bad car now, right? In fact, the majority of the changes to the Gulf were done Mk6 hatch to make it cheaper to build. VW builds fewer goods, so that the changes did not need to be aot as extensive, but the old car was hardly an eye-catcher and its interior was always a bit of a disappointment after the plush Mk4, AOS. VW Golf.

Sun is in the Mk6 Dash (but not his new doortrims), plus an extensive Mk6 nose and body color treatment. No, it is AOS, no eye-catcher, but at least the Golf Estate is now a bit of fine inside and out. It is the automotive equivalent of a bit of Posh with a horsey face and a fat ass.

How does it drive the new 2010 VW Golf Variant?

Very nice indeed, but if you crave excitement, get back to your GTI. The TSI Estate receives about his work with minimal effort and amazing ease. The light-pressure turbo 1.4 has just enough to get you on Oomph and intelligent as she, AOS bit more audible at low speeds, as it is in the hatch it, AOS still a pleasantly refined companion. VW Golf.

Clean economically, I managed 40mpg Bang-on for a week, book-laden cruise on the highway is full (very full load) with days spent in-between days from city to city nipping ended.

Today’s Supercar Review: Audi A8 4.2 TDI SE 2010

audi_a8_4.2_1Today’s supercar review will unveil Audi A8 4.2 TDI 2010. Enjoy!!
I did not know was doing a Audi A4 with a long wheelbase. There is no niche left unexplored?

A4? This is the new 2010 Audi A8, Ingolstadt technological flagship, a limo for a supercar boasting style aluminum space frame and the type of toys that would make Inspector Gadget envious (and owners grateful that Lucas does not, Audi electrics).

But it’s an easy mistake to make. The old Audi A8 was expensive, had a real presence and could be easily recognized as a cut above the rest of the car from Audi. The new A8, but while low and slimmer than the two BMW 7-Series or Mercedes S-Class, is hypocritical and pretty much looks too much like a £ 22k A4.

Go on then hit me with the gadgets (I guess this may take some time)Audi A8 4.2 TDI 2010

The step into the A8 is not like a step in a normal car, it’s like to walk in the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show. To grant the gps or phone number by typing on a touch pad (with my left hand I’m scared, right-handed British) and the adaptive lighting using NAV’s map to change their pattern as the extension of the beams to illuminate the intersection.

Then there is Audi’s first night vision system, which is actually more than the Merc recognition by pedestrians, highlight it in the on-screen image and gives the driver an acoustic warning goes. It can even calculate your trajectory, it will only notify you when the pedestrian stepping into your line. Clever stuff.
