On Sale:April

Why so Great ? Choose between performance or economy

The new Seat Ibiza has been on sale for some time, but the range will be swelled by hot Cupra and frugal Ecomotive models this year.

The Cupra is based on the three-door Seat Ibiza Sports Coupe. It has a 177bhp 1.4litre petrol engine that is turbo- and supercharged, and linked to a seven-speed semi-auto gearbox with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles.

To complement its sporty performance, the Seat Ibiza 2009 also has 17-inch alloy wheel, a rear diffuse, sports sears and aluminum pedals.

Seat Ibiza 2009 ReviewThe Ecomotive sits at the other extreme of the scale, with tweaks bringing its carbon dioxide output down to 98kg/km, on a par with the lowest emitting mass-produced four-seaters. It will come in the three and five door versions, powered by a 79bhp 1.4 diesel. Seat Ibiza 2009.

This New Seat Ibiza looks good. More sculpted than the old Ibiza. We looking forward to have a test drive of this New Seat Ibiza. Besure to comment if you are interested :)
Next STAR Cars will be Smart Fortwo CDI. Make sure you come back in a while to check it out.

2009 Seat Exeo Weekly Review

2009 Seat Exeo

Since Seat has committed to growing its sales volumes across Europe, and needs a model in the upper Mid segment. It may be a market in decline, but it is still the third largest market sector and accounts for 17% of sales.

As it needed a challenger toute suite, it simply borrowed the old A4 production line, shipped it from Ingolstadt to Martorell, and began production. Of course, having ex-Audi top man Eric Schmitt as the new Seat president helps. And as Seat wants a quality offering, going to the acknowledged leaders in terms of build quality makes this decision something of a no-brainer.
The familiar solid ride quality is there, trying to find a trade off between comfort and secure handling. Like the Audi, the 2009 Seat Exeo veers towards stiffness (and veers towards uncomfortable in Sport specification with 18-inch wheels and revised suspension), but the new Servo-tronic power steering is a welcome addition, adding plenty of weight into the rack to give more precision.

When it goes on sale in the UK, there will be three engine options for 2009 Seat Exeo – 2.0-litre TDI diesels with 143 and 170bhp (both the new common rail units) and a 200 bhp 2.0 litre TSI petrol unit borrowed from the Golf GTI.

Only 170bhp diesel was available to drive on Seat Exeo, accessing power from right down at the bottom of the rev range and surging you forward with ease. It’s a little bit gruff at start-up, but on the move settles down into a muted accompaniment.

The Seat Bocanegra Concept-Geneva preview

The current Ibiza has been on the market since 2002 and now a generation change is on its way.Things aren’t moving as fast as we would like and just now the Spanish manufacturer will unveil at Geneva the Bocanegra concept. This concept will show us how the new Ibiza will look like.seat bocanegra concept

From the design point of view this concept dares to be very different from the model we know and love and maybe that’s a good thind. Why?you might ask?Because this segment has been „renewed” with some interesting models: Ford Fiesta, Fiat Grande Punto, Opel Corsa, Mazda2 and it would be ashame for Seat to drop behind.seat bocanegra concept

We know that the production model won’t look as well asthe concept but some good changes have been made and we think that the market will appreciate them. The engines will resemble the ones under the hood of the current generation and the base model will have a 1,2 litre petrol engine that will develop around 70 HP.
