Peugeot Hybrid4: a history lesson

Carz review: Honda CR-Z Hybrid 2010

Honda’s “Affordable” Hybrid to be launched in 2009

I know you like the Honda FCX Clarity, but it costs too much. Well, according to Honda’s president Takeo Fukui, it seems that the company is going to launch a new global hybrid in 2009. The Honda’s next hybrid is top secret, even top U.S. engineers have not seen photographs of the vehicle.

Some informations unveiled by Takeo Fukui in an interview with Automotive News :

- it will have a global nameplate, like the Accord and Civic
- the engine will be based on the Civic’s, but will use a newly designed motor and engine control unit, smaller and lighter
- the hybrid car will be priced below the current Civic Hybrid (which means it will become the least expensive hybrid on the U.S. market)
- the new hybrid will take its design cues from the sleek, wedge-shaped FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle
- the new hybrid will probably use nickel metal hydride batteries
