2009 Audi A4 to offer 2.0 TFSI
Good news for wageon lovers! Audi’s newest 2.0 TFSI Audi A4 has made its official North American debut at the New York Auto Show. The 2.0 liter TFSI four cylinder engine is the same engine that have won “Engine of the Yar” trophies three times. With a 211 HP along with 258 lb.-ft. of torque, the Audi A4’s base engine is capable of propelling the car to sixty in 6.5 seconds.
The incredible output of Audi’s new four-banger makes up for their decision not to offer the sedan’s 3.2 liter FSI V6 in the Avant. The 3.2 FSI V6 features the newest version of Audi’s Valvelift Technology (AVS) and offers up 265 HP. We’re going to see this one in dealerships this October, so keep in touch!
Audi TT:bring on the TDI…
There was a time when:
-you wouldn’t put a diesel engine in a convertible to save your life;
-no „cool” car would be powered by a diesel engine;
But when you win endurance races with a diesel engine,you as a serious manufacturer must take in consideration this alternative. And Audi did this hoping that all their customers won’t be dissapointed. And from what I’ve heard they don’t have any reason to be.
We all know the TT as a sports car that can bring a big smile on everyone’s face but the German manufacturer thinks that by puting a TDI under the hood the receipe will be evn better.It has to be sayd that it will be a 2 litre, 170 HP and 350 Nm TDI(the same that poweres the Skoda Octavia RS).And because everything has to be perfect,the quattro ALW system won’t be missing.
I know that many of you are thinking:but is it still a true sports car?And the answer is simple: 0 to 100 km/h in 7,5 seconds with a top speed of 226 km/h.The real advantage pops up when we discuss the fuel consumtion: 5,3 l/100 km for the coupe and 5,5 l/100 km for the roadster.And don’t worry about any vibrations because this engine is very quiet.
The new A4 Avant
A few months after the unveiling of the A4 Audi is ready to show us the Avant version.The new A4 Avant was meant to be more dynamic and also more practical.The car is 12 cm longer than the previous model and has a 490 litre boot that can be increased to 1430 litres if you fold the back seat.
The engines are the same as the A4 and the quatro system is standard for the 3.2 litre FSI (265 HP) and the 3.0 litre TDI (240 HP). The base price is around 27.550 euros for the 1.8 litre TFSI Attraction (120 HP).
Watch out!the R4 is coming…
In the past Porsche Cayman ruled the streets but it seems that starting with 2011 there’ll be a new kid on the block:a supercar from Audi,the R4.
The two- seater will come both as a coupe and a roadster and just like its big brother,the R8,will have an agressive look and a brand new platform.Design wise,the R4 will resemble the A1 Metroproject concept and the R8.The chassis will be made of steel,not exactely space age,but the engineers promised a combined weight under 1300 kg.
The engines will also be worthy of our atention:an improved version of the well known 2.0 TFSI and a top of the range 300 HP monster.
You might be inclined to assume that the Porsche Boxster and Cayman will be the R4’s closest competitors but I think that BMW’s M division and Mercedes’ AMG will run a tighter race.
Autobild unveils Audi Q5
It seems that the guys from Autobild published what looks to be the new Audi Q5 in all its glory. We’re not sure that those are the official images from Audi or clever photoshops but the the proportions and details seems to be ok.
The front end is an interesting amalgamation of the Audi A4 and the Q7 fascias while the rear light arrangement is something that reminds us from Audi’s show vehicles, where Cross Cabriolet Concept is also included. If you are interested in the details yoou’ll have to wait for Geneva Auto Show in March, where the Q5 will be officially unveiled.
