audi_a8_4.2_1Today’s supercar review will unveil Audi A8 4.2 TDI 2010. Enjoy!!
I did not know was doing a Audi A4 with a long wheelbase. There is no niche left unexplored?

A4? This is the new 2010 Audi A8, Ingolstadt technological flagship, a limo for a supercar boasting style aluminum space frame and the type of toys that would make Inspector Gadget envious (and owners grateful that Lucas does not, Audi electrics).

But it’s an easy mistake to make. The old Audi A8 was expensive, had a real presence and could be easily recognized as a cut above the rest of the car from Audi. The new A8, but while low and slimmer than the two BMW 7-Series or Mercedes S-Class, is hypocritical and pretty much looks too much like a £ 22k A4.

Go on then hit me with the gadgets (I guess this may take some time)Audi A8 4.2 TDI 2010

The step into the A8 is not like a step in a normal car, it’s like to walk in the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show. To grant the gps or phone number by typing on a touch pad (with my left hand I’m scared, right-handed British) and the adaptive lighting using NAV’s map to change their pattern as the extension of the beams to illuminate the intersection.

Then there is Audi’s first night vision system, which is actually more than the Merc recognition by pedestrians, highlight it in the on-screen image and gives the driver an acoustic warning goes. It can even calculate your trajectory, it will only notify you when the pedestrian stepping into your line. Clever stuff.

Similarly, the adaptive cruise control is on site when traffic is from other railways in the process of moving to watch in your area through to the track to move. Moreover, there are the expected stuff: double glazing, 1400W B & O HI-Fi, speed recognition. And did I mention that the navigation system using Google Earth?

I get the idea, the new A8 is like Tomorrow’s World on wheels. But what about the oily stuff in this showbiz gloss? Audi A8 4.2 TDI 2010

There is a new eight-speed automatic transmission and more powerful, less thirsty engines. Starting from these engines are 3.0 6-cylinder and 4.2 V8 turbo diesel and a 4.2 petrol V8. Later on, Audi will add a front-drive 3.0 TDI, an entry-level V6 petrol and 4.0 Bi-Turbo V8. The torque is now split 60:40 in favor of the rear wheels and there is an S4-style drive select system that can optimize the control and circuit cards according to your mood.
