Today’s Supercar: Porsche Boxster Spyder 2010 first look
This is the new Porsche Boxster Spyder and how the arrival of a new Porsche tends to a polarizing event, you are either a sigh of disgust and barking with joy. The bare facts? This Boxster Porsche Spyder is the easiest and fastest current gen sports roadster thanks to the soft top is thrown away.
The Spyder is to be unveiled at the LA Auto Show in December 2009, and it is not a run-out in limited edition as with previous Spyder’s Boxster, but the third (and most expensive) permanent addition to the roadster range.
This is the new Porsche Boxster Spyder does not have a hood?
Well it does. Sort of. To create the Porsche Spyder, the folding roof has binned, and all associated mechanical and in its place comes a piece of cloth that lays on the windshield and hooks on the new rear deck. Even with the side windows and the glass wind deflector take place, there are still some gaps left by the wind in. It’s only for low-speed driving meant – Porsche quotes the 166mph top speed without a roof. Screaming to be heard at, we suppose.
And that the new rear deck?
It is the most striking difference between the Spyder and a standard Boxster – there is now a great pair of power domes behind the rear seats and a larger rear spoiler. Further improvements are revised site host, a new front fascia and the retro label.
The interior gets some fancy moves from the door, the GT3 RS and weight-saving carbon bucket. Sports suspension, a lower center of gravity and – at a relatively trim 1275kg – 80kg weight is an advantage compared to a Boxster S should Spyder Boxster at the sharpest.
And with an extra 10bhp from the engine – where the sum of the 3.4-liter six-cylinder 316bhp – and the Spyder is two tenths faster than a normal 62mph S, knocking the benchmark sprint in 4.8 seconds .
Porsche PDK options like Normal, SAT-NAV, and ceramic brakes are available, the sticker is an option to “Delete”, and customers should also change the situation, the hardcore sites for more convenience-oriented products. UK sales begin in February 2010 with prices at £ 44,643, more than a few large Boxster S to be a want?
