SuperCar Reviw Today: Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder 2010
This is (deep breath) the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder-performance. Think of it as a drop-top version of the Gallardo Superleggera with the same weight-saving measures and the same 562bhp V10 engine. How do you turn a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-in a 4 Spyder-performance?
Cut the roof and strengthen it, for a start. The basis for-performance is the LP560-4 Spyder (LINK!), a hefty 140kg heavier than the equivalent coupe thanks to a lot of reinforcement around the sills and floor. Add (or rather subtract) the Superleggera, weight savings, and you end up with a performing that weighs 1485kg, 145kg more than the Superleggera, and still more that of a normal 75kg Gallardo Coupe, but 65kg less than their smaller siblings Spyder. Thank you carbon fiber, which is used for the side skirts, diffuser, rear spoiler, mirrors housing, cover parts of the flat underbody, the huge shared across engine cover, the transmission tunnel, door panels and the shells of the manually adjustable sport seats. A series of light 19-inch alloys to save another 13kg and alcantara trim helps even more pounds, the Superleggera only the savings-performance does not benefit from the polycarbonate rear and side windows. The engine, thanks to tweaks ECU receives an extra 10bhp, taking the total to 562bhp at 8000rpm. And the weight savings means-performance one tenth quicker to 62mph, 0.6mpg 3g/km cleaner and more efficient.
