Renault Clio: Perfectly French

renault_clio_rs_2011_1If there’s one car that’s full of ‘va va voom’ it’s the Renault Clio. The darling of French motoring has been gracing the roads for 20
years, and in that time it has become one of the most popular hatchbacks around. Currently it is the only car to have won European
Car of the Year twice.

The Clio has appeared in a variety of different forms over the years, from small engined runabouts to the truly ‘enfant terrible” ClioSport
V6. One thing has remained constant though- the Clio’s ability to make you smile. It is a pleasure to drive, and in typically French
style, knows it.

The Clio has always appealed because it is full of character and doesn’t require mortgaging a house to buy. Traditionally Clios have
always been known as cheap cars. Even though it has gone up a bit in price, it still retains
some of the cheap and cheerful heritage that made it appeal to the masses in the early days. The design of the modern Clio really does
make you look twice- the word stunning comes to mind.

It is obvious then that the Renault Clio appeals to a wide ranging audience. From new drivers with a 1.1 litre engine to families and
even racers after a V6 powerhouse, a Clio will really do you proud. What’s more, it wants to be driven, and it wants to look good.

One of the best place to shop for cheap cars is online due to
the insanely large selection. You can pick up a cheap Renault Clio without any difficulty, and often with outrageous discounts. In some
instances you can see up to a 50% reduction from retail prices, which can really give you a lot of bang for your buck.

So if you’re a fan of all things French or simply just want a cheap little runaround, the Renault Clio should be your first port of call.
Like Napoleon, the Clio proves impressive things can come in small sizes!

My first car was a 1980 Renault 5 and I remember lusting after the turbo I could not afford, the Clio Williams was promising Pocket Rockets, and a number of models since Renaultsport has left us in no doubt that La aware Regie engineers that one or two of Le chaud hatch.

I have recently been some time in the latest Renaultsport Clio Cup. Now I do not know how about you, but I’m confused too little in the scheme of fast Renaults. A Cup Trophy is here, a pinch of whole numbers and do not get me started on the forthcoming, brand-stretching Gordini models. It is a confection made marketing nuances that makes me wince. But there’s nowt wrong with the product.

A light green Clio Cup is about to join car’s long-term test fleet, which carried by our staff writer Ben Pulman invaluable. He is in the choice of the purist flopped: Cup a stripped-out model. Loads in the search for Junk-36kg over the regular Clio 200, it niceties like air conditioning (a pain in the winter), posh dash plastics and leccy mirrors, and it’s crisp specced some optional Recaro seats. He does not know struggle with cars, Mr. P.
