New batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, high speeds, high mileage, fewer moving parts to wear out, lighter bodies, quieter operation; and like its aircraft counterpart, the radial engine, the piston engine will be relegated to museums and the occasional yesteryear sideshow, and we will be free of the benzene molecule and cancer will slip to the back burner with gasoline, diesel and OPEC.
