Full coverage automobile insurance is a type of automobile insurance that policyholders can get so that they can get coverage for other events and situations which would otherwise not be covered by a regular policy. Although most states only require basic liability insurance, getting full coverage is advisable since it can offer better protection especially for drivers who have expensive cars or cars that are leased or financed.
Full coverage automobile insurance includes collision coverage which would reimburse the driver for any repairs of the vehicle or for its replacement, regardless of who caused the accident. It can even cover damages caused by accidents where there is no other vehicle involved like running into a road sign.
Another difference between full coverage and liability coverage is that the latter would only cover you if you would be involved in a vehicular accident with another driver. Full coverage would be able to protect you in the event of criminal and malicious acts like vandalism and theft. In the event that your car gets stolen, the insurance company would most likely reimburse you for an amount between the trade-in value of the car and how much the dealer would charge for it.
Full coverage insurance would also have comprehensive coverage which would protect you in the event that your car gets damaged by natural occurrences such as a fire, an explosion and natural disasters like hail, floods or tornadoes.
Lastly, full coverage automobile insurance would be able to provide you with protection even when you are driving a rental car. This is why if you already have this with your insurance policy, you can skip getting the insurance offered by the car rental company.
If you are looking to get an automobile insurance quote in Colorado or in the state where you are living in, it is best to start going online and visiting websites which offer free quotes. As you go through your options, make sure that you would be doing your research on the factors affecting automobile insurance and how getting a full coverage insurance policy would benefit you.
