New 2008 H302 and H302SC models were recently revelead by Saleen Automotive and from the first look , it seems that these versions feature some massive upgrades. These models are meant to show reverence to the Pony fan (”H” stands for “Heritage”), while building a legend. With a 302 cubic inch engine, the 302 Saleen Models boast better performance than a stock Ford.

“The 302 engine is the best engine that we have ever done,” said Saleen Powertrain maestro Rob Simons in a press release.

The H302 gets 390 horsepower but if you really love power, you should chose H302SC. Reaching a spectacular 580 horsepower and 525 ft-lb of torque, the H302SC sports a 302 engine matched with a Saleen-exclusive twin screw intercooled supercharger. Both models get a short throw six-speed manual transmission , Saleen Racecraft suspension and 14-inch front vented slotted brake rotors with four-piston calipers. The 19-inch forged aluminum wheels in both silver and chrome is available for the H302, and the H302SC customers receives a specially painted seven-spoke 19-inch forged wheel.

Saleen Vice Chairman Chris Theodore said, “The H line draws its inspiration from the late sixties Boss 302 Mustang, and is a real compliment to the Ford family heritage.” Theodore is also Chief Technical Officer at Saleen.

The Epoch project is a very interesting concept but the strange thing is that it’s designed by a tire manufacturer. After the company’s success this year’s Le Mans 24 hour race, Kumho decided to emply its conceptual abilities and to create environmentally-friendly Le Mans car of the future.

Being designed around a innovative tire technology, the Epoch eco-friendly racing car is the first in a series of concept vehicles set to be developed by Kumho over the next few years. The concept “illustrates the creative technological ability we have as a company,” Kumho’s in-house designer Rob Dolton declared in a interview.”Our main goal was to explain what we think about current issues in the auto industry as a whole,” said Dolton, a Coventry University graduate who worked for Fiat Advanced Design in Turin before joining Kumho in 2005.

The final imagery for the concept was produced using Alias Imagestudio. “When the model has been completed and signed off I use Alias Imagestudio as a final render tool. I find that it’s easy to use and doesn’t have the cost or complexity of programs such as Maya. I may also add a little Photoshop to breathe a bit of ‘life’ into the renderings.

The Epoch concept is set to pave the way for future green racing cars and sustainable technologies in motorsport. “There’s an environmental impact to everything we do. We believe in motorsport but also in environmental responsibility, said Dolton. “While delighted at winning the LMP2 class at Le Mans this year, we accept that environmental pressures will not allow motorsport to carry on in its current form indefinitely. However, rather than viewing it as an increasingly antisocial pastime, we regard it as a perfect platform for developing green technology solutions. The Epoch is an example of just how exciting the future could be.”

I’ve heard that the Fiat 500 will be named the 2008 car of the year in Europe.Although no official announcement has been made the Italians already started the celebrations. They might be up to something.fiat 500I mean the small 500 has on its side the design and a 5 star EuroNCAP test. The guys from Fiat made a new car starting from the old 500 and I have to say that they’ve done a very good job.The small yet heart-filling car outran models as Audi A5/S5, Ford Mondeo, Honda CR-V, Hyundai i30, Kia cee’d, Mazda2, Renault Laguna, Renault Twingo, Skoda Fabia or Toyota Auris/Corolla.Even though some of these cars could easily win the 500 took the prize and also our hearts. It’s hard not to love this car.Fiat has a history with winning this award and 3 more of its cars took it in the last 17 years: Punto (1995), Bravo/Brava (1996) and Panda (2004).

I don’t know how many points did the 500 gather or what’s the exact classification but next week all these will be announced.

I’ve got to say that this is the most aggressive Hyundai I’ve ever seen. The targets the sports car enthusiasts and they will not be dissapointed for a minute.

Genesis Coupe

The manufacturer announced that the car has rear wheel drive and a limited slip differential, wich means that the Correans intend to race with the big names. And a race the others shall have.In the engine compartment we see a 3.8 litre,300 HP V6 and also a 6 speed manual transmission.Another interesting fact:0 to 60 in under 6 secconds.

What goes fast has got to stop quick so the engineers fitted 340 mm and 330 mm Brembo disks on the front and back.

hyundai

hopes are high but Hyundai promisses us Infiniti G37 like driving experience at a Mitsubishi Eclipse like price. We can only wait and see…

OK, so the pictures tell a very cool story but is it all just at the surface? Will we be able to drive cars that will resemble this one? According to VW we shall have this chance from 2009. In case you didn’t know, you’re looking inside a VW Space Up! , a 3rd generation concept.

You would have to be blind to miss the 7-inch touchscreen display slapped onto the center console. But this screen justifies his somehow unusual size. It controls all the functions that the car will let the driver play around with. Plus, it uses proximity sensors to react to gestures so the actual touching part is no longe necessary. If that’s the direction VW will take its cars all I can do is to give the German manufacturer a big THUMBS UP! It’s about time someone actualy even consideres to make a proper „future car”. I realise that a cool screen doesn’t make any car a flying space ship but it’s a good start. And congrats to Apple too because I imagine that without them all this wouldn’t be possible. All in all an appealing yet young partnership that promises more fantasy in the car world, fantasy that may spark a new revolution…Who knows?
