The Prius has dominated the hybrid market in the United Kingdom and Toyota has sold now worldwide 2.5 million. It is without doubt a great success. But what to do if you don’t see themselves as a Prius driver? Don’t worry, you’re not on your own and Toyota Auris HSD can have come up with an answer.

Toyota’s plan is a hybrid version of the end of the decade have all his best-selling models and the Auris is the first of these. The HSD is basically an Auris, equipped with all the proven technology developed for the Prius. To see if there is more to the Auris HSD as its eco-friendly credentials, we spent a week with a to find out.

The Auris series was earlier this year revised but you would be hard to notice changes, the forgettable Ford focus and Vauxhall Astra rivals. In fact, I would go as far as to say that the only standout model relating the HSD is. Its hybrid only Pearlescent of white, LED daytime running lights, blue tinted emblems, lower ride height, aerodynamic bumpers and turbine-shaped 17-inch alloy wheels have a targeted – even sporting attitude.

Inside, it’s all standard Auris. Highlights are the unusual stroke is designed to set each control within easy reach, and it works well. It is a unique instrument instead of the mileage that shows how much free from taken or put you back into the battery and how much the engine is used. Even the highest drivers get comfortable, because there are plenty of seating area adjustments and useful storage behind the bridged centre console. Unfortunately, like the Interior of the standard Auris that could stereo controls larger and easier to read and the HSD’s mouse-like shift lever set awkwardly high is.

Total cabin feels so spacious as rivals such as the focus and Astra Auris’s. Unfortunately, the car bulky battery pack eats in the practical boat space and it is now only a cramped 279 liters.

The Auris HSD is equipped with a 136bhp 1 8 liter gasoline engine, that the most eco-friendly car on sale could make it along with the hybrid battery pack. It has certainly impressive figures to back up this claim, as CO2 emissions are only 89 g / km and it is capable of 74.3 mpg in the combined cycle. Performance and acceleration are best describe how to work, but if you gently with the throttle the Auris travel up to 1.2 miles on electric power alone. The petrol engine intersects seamlessly additional urge is required, but it sounds thrashy under hard acceleration.

Auris’s power steering is light and accurate, but more steering feel would be nice. I don’t like the hard drive much either, this is probably the result of suspension is reinforced, to cope with mechanical hybrid with emphasis.

To sum the ? 20,882 is less practical than the standard petrol Auris HSD. But, when you are ready, the functionality and performance to accept this Toyota could compromise its unpretentious eco car you need.

It is one of the coolest brands of all time – and not without reason! Aston Martin has for decades make some which most lusted for cars.

A combination of amazing look at incredible performance and a few big screen stars have made the car of choice for the rich and famous.

But that we would put in our fantasy garage when our numbers on the Euromillions Lottery came? Here we have run down our five favorites.
If there are for a specific super spy Aston Martin opportunities would be nearly as successful. James Bond catapulted the marque in the Empire super star and it is the DB5 that things really began. Appearances in no less than five films reaches the car near the hotel cult status. The model driven by Sean Connery in two of you recently sold for a whopping ? 2. 6 m! Featured the DB5 a 4.0-liter engine produced driving 282bhp location it to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds.

The DB9, was very close to our list make. And it kind of Act. The DBS is based on it, but has only a little more fire in their belly. A 6.0-liter V12 gets it to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and the sound it makes is simply sensational. It is also played in addition to bond to, although the dodgy camera work quantum of solace doesn’t really do it justice… Fortunately TIFF Needell does in this video!

petrol-prices_riseReach less than two weeks after reports of gasoline prices to new record highs, motorists once again face the prospect of handing over more money in the Treasury thanks to the new increase in petrol duty and VAT. A rise in petrol duty came into force on New Year’s Day to another 0.76p to a liter of petrol and diesel while on 4 January, the tax increases from 2.5% to 20% represent a further hike for stricken drivers who have seen mean liter unleaded average increase of 107p in January 2010 on 124P today.

The AA believes that the combined increases an additional 3.5p is on a liter of unleaded and diesel both add and estimates that motorists almost 10 million pounds a day spent more on fuel than a year ago. Meanwhile, the RAC warned that the government push in danger, the driver was too far.

“Since each penny increase in fuel prices raises duty on additional 500 million pounds for the Treasury, it is easy to see why the Chancellor is trying to hike rates,” the foundation’s director, Professor Stephen Glaister said the BBC. “But if the nation are 34 million drivers pushed too far they will drive less and the Treasury could actually see their tax revenues fall.

“In the election there was much talk of a mineral oil stabilizer. Drivers will rightly ask, what happens is this idea.”
