Since the BMW M3, Mercedes C63 AMG and Audi RS4 entering the sports-car market, Lexus attempt to be another competitor that inbreaking the market with his IS-F sports sedan. The “F” will denote Lexus performance tuning in the future.

lexus2However, Lexus will also add a new model below the IS, intended as an entry-level sedan or hatch to compete against the BMW 1 Series or Audi A3.

The LF-A supercar will go into production possibly in 2011.

lexus3Apart from the sports car market, Lexus will unveil the next-generation RX crossover SUV in 2009, following a taster concept at the 2007 Tokyo motor show. Also, starting next year a hybrid powertrain will soon be available on every model and Lexus plans to show a pure hybrid concept at next year’s Detroit show. It sounds like a kind of Lexus “Prius” although it’s not yet confirmed for production.
