Koenigsegg CCXR-a biofuel devil

The green-mania hit the car world so hard that nothing seems to escape it.The one thing I thought will never be touched by this is the supercars. But since nothing is sacred in this world Koenigsegg made the CCXR Special Edition biofuel car that breaks the 100 HP barrier. It’s admirable that this car can beat the Veyron and still love the planet.
Featuring a cast-aluminium V8 engine with sequential multipoint fuel injection and twin rotrex centrifigual superchargers and burning E85 biofuel, the CCXR has 1.018 HP at 7,200 rpm and 1,060 Nm at 6,100 rpm.
I thought the „green” Koenigsegg will have short legs but I was wrong:0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, with top speed expected to exceed 400 km/h.Pulling a hair-rising 10.7 mpg the CCRX forces you to have a close relationship to all gas stations. The price is also supercar-like: 1.5 million euros.

The first CCX was a phenomenal car; I suppose an environmentally-friendly version is a good step.
biofuels are hardly environmentally friendly, far more energy is used (and more pollution is created) to manufacture, and subsequently burned when using biofuels than standard fossil fuels. Not to mention the ethical issues behind raising the price of food for the hungry because we are making it into fuel.
the car is pretty sweet though!
sure is.but i don’t see the point.nobody will pay 1.5 million euros on something that runs on cooking oil.
More motivation to become wealthy.
And Curly, “nobody will pay 1.5 million euros on something that runs on cooking oil.”
I would.
good for you.I know I wouldn’t!
cooking oil?…… its not a goddamn diesel. it runs on e85 ethanol….made from corn or some other sugar producing plant material…which as someone else mentioned, it takes more energy to produce ethanol than it saves us in gas. its not earth friendly, its just renewable. when they have an electric version that charges itself by the sun…. THEN it will be special..or if it could run on straight oil from algae, which produces 10 times the oil in an acre than any seed crop. but now… its just an alcohol car… thats not new.
