 CARS TO TALK

Well, have you watch the Knight Rider yet, we know that the super car kitt can talk and have highly intelligence. But how much you know the story below? Let’s go and see.

Car manufacturers are always on their ways to come up something new in order to attract car buyers. This trend is also being practiced by General Motors(GM). This leading car manufacturer is establishing its car-to-car communication. However, several car producers have already developed the technologies such as Ford, Nissan and Volvo. But the difference of the car-to-car communication of GM is that it can communicate to other cars that are independent of model and manufacturer. In order for this to be successful, this initiative of GM will require great participation of car producers and governments as well. With this new technology from GM, it may have the possibility to create a world where actual driving is no longer necessary.

The car-to-car communication hardware system will consist of a microprocessor, GPS receiver and wireless LAN to establish communication between vehicles even if they are hundreds of meters apart. The system works by providing warnings to either by a warning sound or through small LCD screen. There will be and exchange of information between cars and some points. The information will include the location, speed and the presence of other vehicles. Drivers can be warned if another vehicle stopped in an area that has zero visibility or in an intersection nearby.
