VW UP Hot or Not Review

VW UP Hot or Not Review

I thought your guys have already heard of the rumors about the VW UP. Today we will go through a bit more details about this Volkswagen’s new baby VW UP, I hope soon we will have the answers in our mind.
From the design to the production, it has been switch from rear- to front-engined due to the cost issue. As we all known that in the New Small Family (NSF), the template setting by the revolution new Toyota iQ is the most cost-effective one.

Why the front-engined VW UP more efficient?
In the R&D and procurement department costs alone, VW insiders said they have already slash €400m (£320m) from the bill. In addiction to that greater economies of scale, and a further €350m (£280) will roll off the cash register for reducing the investments in tooling and greater production flexibility.

This strategic handbrake turn indeed is an accountant’s dream. However, it delays the titch tiny VW Up show up by a full year.

How is the new production look like?
You might have thought that the redesign will change the outlook of the new baby VW UP. However, the U-turn has negligible the effect on the well received design. People impressions reveal how the three door production NSF should look and it has been compiled with the help of inside source at the VW’s design centre.
By shifting the engine to the front means a slightly longer nose. Well placed design sources suggest the snout stretches to 50mm longer, but insist the overall effect is the same.
Thanks to the original NSF concept already had a front-mounted radiator for even weight distribution, so there is no need for larger or repositioned air intake or suchlike.

The NSF will be offered to three key markets: Europe, South America and India. As ever in a numbers obsessed market, the VW Up project will be shared around the VW Group, but the VW mother ship will be the only brand to get all three body styles.
Expect this three-door, plus five-door and Space Up! MPV versions if you wander into a VW dealer; Skoda will offer only the five-door; and Seat will sell three- and five-door hatches only.
Bundle those together and you see the financial argument behind the NSF. A combined total of 500,000 cars will be built in a full year. This small car will lead to a big business.

What’s the price of the NSF VW UP?
VW is targeting prices between €5500 (£4500) and €9000 (£7000), depending on, body style, market and specification. Further more, we find it hard to believe that VW won’t go the luxury route in Europe, as Toyota and Smart do with their city cars.

However sadly, the engineering redesign has pushed back first assembly into 2011.

More features on Engine and etc:
VW is planning to offer a choice of three different three cylinder engines for its VW up models. It is still not quite sure whether there will be a bespoke 1.0-litre unit or whether the Up will adopt the existing 1.2 litre 16 valve version from current small VW versions. For sure is that the VW Up will have a 400kg pay load, a 35-litre fuel tank and 155/65R14 rubber.

VW UP Hot or Not ReviewIn each case, the maximum power output of this small baby is 60 bhp and top torque is 80 lb ft. Next speed up the pecking order is a turbo charged edition rated at 86 bhp and 120 lb ft. The only diesel earmarked for the new small VW is a 1.2 litre common rail engine which develop 75 bhp and 135 lb ft.

A five-speed manual is standard on the production of VW Up, but the stronger petrol unit could alternatively be combined with a dual-clutch gearbox. The target fuel consume figures are 65.8 mpg for the petrol engined model (95 g/km of CO2) and 94.7 mpg for the TDI model (75 g/km of CO2).
Although the project’s delay would allow VW to make the city car part of the new group-wide MQB family, the Up is all about being bargain basement. So a more radical engineering solution is required: less weight, fewer components and reduced flexibility.

For instance, instead of having to develop a brand-new rear suspension, VW can fit the front-wheel drive Up with a simplified version of the same compound axle that is fitted to the current Polo.

Jaguar XF 2009 powerful launches !!

jaguar_xf_2009

Jaguar XF 2009 was a real success for them, the Jaguar XF caught everyone’s attention as the first real sports sedan launched.

Jaguar XF’s takes greatest hit from the S-Type, which it replaces. But the Jaguar XF 2009 is using the V-8 engines, subframes, suspension, six-speed transmission, propeller shaft and makes it different from the XJ sedan and XK sports car.

jaguar_xf_2009_2Although all the parts are scrounging, the Jaguar XF has little in common with the rest of the Jaguar lineup or its predecessor. The XF will be the car that carries Jaguar into the modern age.

Features: the Jaguar XF has longer and skinnier wheelbase from the S-type. Unlike the elegant aluminum structure of the Jaguar XJ and XK, the XF has a steel shell.
jaguar_xf_2009_3 The V8 4.2 liter is shared with the rest of the lineup but is slightly retuned for different driving styles. The six-speed automatic transmission is the same as in the other Jaguars, however the gear shifts occur 15 percent faster in the XF.
Jaguar XF 2009 was estimated 0-60mph performance in 6.2 seconds, with a sub-15-second quarter-mile time.

Mitsubishi Colt with facelift

Mitsubishi thought this sixth generation by a new and interesting concept, but which presents advantages and disadvantages and I’m thinking especially at the single volume design. It is true that the available space is incomparable better, but a lot of style and dynamic aspect is wasted.

The Colt’s facelift is pretty discreet and is possible to observe only the optical blocks which are now on black background and which changes the aspect of the frontal side, by adding an improvement of style. Beside this, the car gained ornaments for the side skirts (the five door version), black background tail lights and side rear windows, plus the smoky field glass.

The motors range remained the same, compound by three engines on gas and one turbodiesel engine. Our test car disposes of the 1.3 liters gas engine with 95 Hp, which means the medium one as power from the gas engines. Taking to account that Mitsubishi Colt is a low class car, the 95 Hp should be sufficient. And they really are, but in certain conditions, more precisely in town. In traffic, the little Colt is managing very well, the accelerations being sufficient enough to start faster from the semaphore and to maintain an alert rhythm among others cars .It also depends on you to go up to higher revs, because the engine develops a maximum torque of 125 Nm at 4.000 rpm. Beside this, using the air conditioned is obviously felt at the performances level, especially when the weather is so hot that you must use the third stage for creating a comfortable climate.

In town, Colt shows a good handling, thanks to the light direction and reduced sizes. Even out of town the engine works very well, but that only if you don’t have substantial pretensions regarding dynamic statistics. Regarding to how much weight is put in the car, you could maintain a decent rhythm, the cruise speed being about 130 km/h. After this value, the engine passes his limits and becomes less comfortable regarding the noise produced. You must take care also at overtaking. Shifting gear down and racing the engine are necessary, especially when the car is loaded. That’s why you should avoid the small engine, of 1.1 liters, with three cylinders and 75 Hp. You could easily choose the one with 95 HP , if you drive most of the time in town, or the engine of 1.5 liters and 109 Hp, if you go out of town. The difference of price is (with all taxes included, at base equipage) about 1.071 euro between the version with 1.3 liters engine and the version with 1.1 liters and about 714 euro between the engine of 1.5 liters and the one with 1.3 liters. The Clot’s advantages are very important regarding the interior space. The high body doesn’t rise problems at the head level and the back seats allow to the occupiers to seat comfortable. Even more, the back seat can glide, which means there is no problem for the luggage space, even though the truck has a capacity of 220 liters.

As how is expected from an urban car, the storage spaces are in sufficient number.

To conclude, Colt remains a car addressed especially to the fair sex, the ladies being probably able to appreciate the interior space, the interesting style of the body and not to be disturbed by the engine without sportive expectations.

For men remains the temptation of the 150 Hp of the CZT model, moreover when less people expect at 8 seconds for zero to 100 km/h from an urban car.

The prices for Mitsubishi Colt with the engine of 1.3 liters begin from 11.543 euro (with all taxes included).
