Dodge Viper SRT-10: the ultimate american sports car
Or so say the guys from Dodge. They revealed the 2008 version of one of the best known american cars.Even though its history is rather short the Viper caught Europe’s eyes because it represents the American view of a sports car:big cylinders, huge torque and an incredible quarter mile time.
In 2008 the SRT-10 has the same 8.4 litre engine but with more horses:600.0 to 60 in just 4 seconds put the Viper ahead of many European cars. The down side is that the SRT-10 has a big feud with all corners…
2009 Dodge Journey crossover will debut in Frankfurt
Meet the 2009 Dodge Journey, a new crossover from the crosshairs brand that will debut early next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. Why the international debut? The 2009 Journey will be an international vehicle, sold both in the U.S. and Canada, as well as markets outside North America. The new Journey is one of those vehicles that wants to look like an SUV, haul stuff like a station wagon and ride like a passenger car.
Known by the code name JC49 for months, the Dodge Journey is actually based on an Avenger chassis with a wheelbase lengthened 4.9 inches. That provides extra room for an optional third-row seat for “occasional use”. The Journey also includes some clever features like a large storage bin beneath the front passenger seat cushion, as well as two in-floor bins behind the front seats big enough to carry a 12-pack each and some ice.
Dodge designed the Journey with a traditional crossover look, eschewing the amped up machismo look of many recent Dodge looks. Of course, the monochromatic R/T looks the best, especially wearing 19-inch wheels. The interior of the 2009 Journey is also not traditional Dodge fare. While we can’t comment on how the materials feel, it does appear the Journey is sporting new switchgear, and a lot of it. The audio and HVAC controls are a barrage of buttons that could be intimidating to some.

Dodge Viper - The powerful Reptile

A grand big center stage car from Chrysler Group i.e 2008 Dodge Viper, 600-horsepower, 8.4-liter V10 engine with 560 lbs of torque will make other models like 500-horsepower Corvette ZO6 and 500-horsepower BMW M6 search for corners. Chrysler primary focused on the Dodge brand in the final press conference at 2007 North American International Auto Show at Detroit and as expected their highlight was on official curtain raiser for the 2008 Dodge Viper.
2008 Dodge Viper would zoom from 0-60mph in just under 4 seconds and 0-100-0mph in 12 seconds. That is really impressive. This car isn’t just outrageously powerful you can also call it not just powerful. Once you zoom on the road with the new Viper expect the world to follow behind you, i.e the power of 600 hp. Now it is going to be interesting war of horsepower and more auto rockets could be seen in near future.

Why is this car so powerful ? The increased horsepower comes from extra 0.1 liter of displacement, new cylinder heads and variable valve timing. The other prominent cosmetic change include new and improved hood that has a larger scoop for air intake and louvers thus improving engine cooling. 5 body colors will be added in 2008 Viper which will take the total color count to 8. The interior styles are going to be wide with 5 interior color combinations and a choice of bezel and center console finishes.
