NissanJuke1_2010Fret not! Maybe have spotted write the £ 20k price tag on this Nissan Juke first drive, but be assured: We have the top dog, climbed designed turbocharger and 4×4 Juke on Mini Cooper S territory. We have moved to cheaper models in the range (the Nissan Juke starts at a much more palatable £ 12.795), but the technology is justified on the 1.6-T DIG first look.

The Juke is Nissan’s new crossover, a baby-SUV of slots of Qashqai. With only 4.2 m long, it is in the same league as the forthcoming Mini Countryman, although priced well below.

Nissan Juke: the tech history

This junior crossover based on the Renault Nissan Alliance B platform is based, the same bag of bits you will see a Clio or monotonous note, then. This architecture has been extended and updated with many new technologies, even in this top model turbo petrol a 4×4 option. This is a rare car on UK roads remain, however, well over 90% of the Juke buyers with front-wheel drive stick.

The 1.6-Dig-T is interesting, since it requires a new gasoline direct-injection turbo engine in the Nissan heralds Empire. It is powerful on paper, repressed 187bhp and 177 pounds ft Twist.

It is certainly, uh look at, challenging!

Yes, the inevitable aesthetic argument, let us out of the way now. The Juke is a Marmite car – you’ll love it or hate. Spend time with the car and you start to “get it”, after the initial shock and awe. The front end is very strange and a very busy design canvas, thanks to a multi-story light-show, the wine rack lower grille and the main air intakes. There is much in the GTR-esque canopy raked window line to, and those 370Z rear boomerang lights are also cool.

The interior is designed more modestly. It is here in less busy, with simple design and a few frills. A long center console runs the length of the front compartment, styled on a motorcycle trunk – you can choose red or silver metallic finishes, and it really brings the house to life. Even this cautious eyes, the sweeping red color of the function of choice.

Mid-range Acenta trim and comes up with Nissan Dynamic Control System, the knobs and switches replaced in the heating control with some pretty sophisticated softkeys. They are smart backlight and shiny black buttons to change purpose depending on whether you are changing the ventilation system or the car set-up. Sounds gimmicky, really works well and cuts down on button clutter. It combines the best of touchscreens with physical buttons.
