Honda S2000 Type S

Even though your mind automaticaly dreams of a new S2000 I’m here to give you a bit of a nightmare.The Type S is no more than a body kit meant for those who want to beaf up their car.And it has to be said that is a very cool one.I mean you realy have what to look at:a very aggressive front and rear bumper and a not so discrete aileron.

Despite its age (the car was launched back in ’99) the S2000 is still the sports flag ship for Honda,beeing amongst the favourites with young buyers who love the 2 litre, 240 HP and 208 Nm engine.

Nissan Developing Color Changing Paint

Whoa ! You won’t belive this : Nissan is developing a paramagnetic iron oxide paint polymer that allow people to change the color of their car with the flip of a switch, and if they manage to achieve their goal soon all soccer moms will be James Bonds. Using electrical charge, the arrangement of iron oxide crystals can be tweaked, adjusting the car’s color. (It just so happens that metal-bodied cars make for excellent conductive surfaces.) But we’re really excited over Nissan’s surely bogus but juicy claim to have the technology on the market extremely soon, by 2010 if possible. Oh…except there’s one catch : if you touch the car it will electrocute you. A small amount of current is always needed to maintain the arrangement of iron oxide (your custom car color). So when you leave your car parked/off, the car turns white. How cool is that?

L.A’s too far away

At least for Cadillac it is.The American company couldn’t wait until the Auto Show to unveil its latest creation:the new Hybrid Escalade.

I was starting to wonder where would the manufacturers take this hybrid fashion but Cady showed me that even a green monster can behave.What I mean is that even though the car has the same V8 engine the appetite has been reduced to 50% through some very well thought technologies.Some of them are Active Fuel Management and Late-Intake Valve Closing.It also features a start&stop system and an electric motor.

Unfortunately the green Escalade only comes in 2 colors:white and black.Thank God for all the tunners that will not be able to keep their hands of this car.Even though the interior is slightly modified,I don’t think that it will be speared.

The Cadillac is always best know for its premium quality cassette players. A decent cassette player with CD changer controls is all that a Cadillac driver can hope for! And the Company at all times regards its customers. The Hybrid Escalade has the standardized audio and CD system like that of a genuine sony cd changer.

Eagerly awaited,the VW Golf 6 slowly shows its face…and muscles

The current GTI is a very appreciated model so its succesor MUST be perfect especialy since the 5th generation sold better than the R32.

VW has seen that just this image of a wolf in sheep’s clothes attracts people in buying a Golf so the aesthetic part hasn’t been changed much.In the Golf family a radical design change only occurs once every 2 generations so the Golf 6 has to keep tradition intact.

It has to be said that the guys from Volfsburg did allow themselves one eccentricity:an air scoop from the W12-650 concept.Those crazy germans….

The new generation will have the same front wheel drive but with a more powerfull engine:a 230 HP monster.

The transmissions also remains the same,as well as the body styles(3 and 5 doors).

The Series 1 tii…but where’s the engine?

The Series 1 tii concept from BMW was unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show and it is a pure bread racing…car,at least visualy.I am forced to say that because BMW didn’t release any detailes about the engine and transmission.

The eye catching white and blue paint,the carbon fibre bonnet and the subtle aesthetic changes can only add to the mistique. BMW already announced that the Series 1 tii will be mass produced. Only one thought haunts my mind : how nice would the M3’s 343 HP engine look in this car…
